Northern New Mexico Winter Sports Special Olympic Team.
Our Northern New Mexico Winter Sports Special Olympic Team is designed for athletes who wish to compete in regional and National Special Olympic Team Competitions. Specifically, team members will attend and compete in the Regional Competition at Copper Mountain Ski Resort, Colorado, each season.
Athletes will receive coaching:
- every Sunday
- at events
- for preseason snow training
Athletes compete in regional events that are a part of the Rocky Mountain Division of Special Olympics and represent the TWST Northern New Mexico Special Olympic Team.
Some prior racing experience is helpful but not required. Participation in the Regional Taos School Group Program is helpful, but not required.
This program features our most knowledgeable adaptive coaching staff and dedicated volunteers who provide exceptional coaching to every athlete focusing on skills development and competition readiness.
