Athletes compete in regional events that are a part of the Rocky Mountain Division of the United States Ski and Snowboard Association. Some prior racing experience is needed but not required. Participation in the Gateway Program is recommended.
Alpine Race athletes are expected to possess a level of maturity and mountain awareness that allows them to navigate the mountain without 100% supervision from the coaching staff. This program features our most knowledgeable coaching staff, providing exceptional coaching to every athlete focusing on skills development and competition readiness.
Each Alpine Race athlete will be required to attend 3 regional competitions per season. USUSA membership will be required to attend competitions and travel to venues.
This program will meet every Saturday and Sunday with an 8:45 morning session and then a 12:45 afternoon session, which ends at 3:30. Lunch, 11:45 to 12:45, is not supervised by the staff.
Athletes in this program are also expected to be fully physically able and comfortable loading and riding chairlifts without adult assistance or supervision. This program will be a fun, high quality learning experience, with knowledgeable and skilled staff who are excited to share their passion for the sport
